Aleksandr Ponomarev
Aleksandr Ponomarev (Russian: Александр Семёнович Пономарёв; Ukrainian: Oлександр Семeнович Пономарьов born 23 April 1918 in Horlivka; died 7 June 1973 in Moscow) was a Soviet Ukrainian football player and manager.
He was the head coach of the USSR national football team in 1972, leading the team to second place in UEFA Euro 1972. He also with FC Dynamo Moscow obtained the bronze medals of the Soviet Top League, and the Olympic Games 1972.
